Pilgrimage Part 2:
Ausangate Trek
September 18th - 24th, 2023
@ Apu Ausangate, Peru

Part 1 of the Pilgrimage can be found here.
Part 2 of the Pilgrimage takes us to the magnificent Apu Ausangate. This majestic mountain is an ancient pilgrimage destination used by the Incas and pre-Incan civlizations dating back many thousands of years. We will hike for 7 days around Ausangate Mountain, going over 5,200 meter (17,000 feet) passes! While we hike, we will be leaving offerings to the mountain spirits (apus) along the way. While the trail is considered to be of moderate difficulty, this is a serious undertaking and should not be underestimated. Please come prepared with waterproof shoes, warm clothes, rain jacket and a warrior mentality. Horses will be available to carry packs and for those who are overly fatigued and in of need rest. We will work with the medicines of Washuma and Coca daily to provide power and spiritual connection with the spirits of the mountains.
Part 3 of the Pilgrimage can be found here.

The Experience
ARRIVAL
Almost all Flight Itineraries to Cusco (Airport Code: CUZ) have an overnight stop in Lima (Airport Code: LIM). If this is the case for you, we recommend staying at Paypurix for its close proximity to the airport, affordable prices, and cleanliness. While many people choose to fly into Cusco the day the cleanse begins, you may like to arrive early to have a couple of days to settle in and explore. If you choose to arrive early, we've put together this travel guide to tell you about things to do, places to stay, and yummy restaurants, Cusco is an amazing city with lots to see and do (don't miss the Cacao Museum!).
For those that did not attend the first part of the pilgrimage, we will organize a group shuttle on September 14th at noon from the Cusco Airport to Ausangate. You will arrive at the retreat center around 5pm for a brief introduction ceremony followed by dinner and rest.
